Some goodbyes are unbearable, and this is one of them. Today, I said goodbye to my sweet, beautiful Sadie, my soul dog. She was the most loyal, patient, kind, loving girl, and the best friend a girl could ask for. It’s been an absolute blessing to have her in my life, and I’m so lucky to have felt her love for the past 13.5 years, always by my side or waiting patiently at the door for my return.
For the past year, we fought hard to keep her cancer away, knowing that each treatment was only buying us time. Although we would take forever and do anything to have her back cuddled up next to me, stealing kisses and treats, we are grateful for the extra year we had with her. I love you forever, my beautiful girl.
