Phoenix

Feb 23, 2018

Phoenix (aka Sissy) was part of our family for 15 years. She grew up with our son, and when he went away to college, she filled a void left behind. She was a rare female orange tabby – spirited and living life on her own terms — choosing who to love; when to show affection; and when to stand her ground. She loved eating and sleeping in the sun or by the fireplace. She gave us laughs and love and lots of tears when it was her time to go. Our house is emptier and quieter now, and we miss her deeply. We know, in our hearts, that we made the right decision in letting her go before the pain and struggle that came with her cancer took her spirit and zest for life. We will be forever grateful to Dr. Kary and Caring Pathways for making this final journey a peaceful and honorable one for Phoenix. We could never have traveled this path without the compassionate and loving support provided. Go in loving peace, sweet girl. We know you’re holding your own with the gods and spirits.

We love you.
