“The fidelity of a dog is a precious gift demanding no less binding moral responsibilities than the friendship of a human being. The bond with a true dog is as lasting as the ties of this earth can ever be, a fact which should be noted by anyone who decides to acquire a canine friend.” This quotation by Konrad Lorenz is so real, so true and so right.
Our hearts were broken on August 15th when our Emma slipped away and headed to the Rainbow Bridge. Emma was one of those very special dogs that comes along once in a lifetime, a “clearance puppy” we rescued from a not so great breeder in 2006. Runt of the litter, but as playful and energetic as any of the others in her brood.
She was our boy’s dog, ever faithful and protective… she was our dog, providing unconditional love, laughter and happiness… she was her own dog, always certain to let us know when she was hungry, wanted to go swimming, or telling us she knew exactly where we were when she was in the car approaching the dog park.
Emma only spent 13 years on this earth but she made a lifetime of difference in our family…. We love and miss you Emma. You are and always will be deep within our wonderful memories, forever providing that unconditional love, laughter and happiness…
