Caroline Patterson, DVM

Dr. Caroline grew up on a farm in Delaware where she was surrounded by horses, chickens, dogs and cats. She moved to Colorado for her undergrad at CU Boulder and fell in love with the mountains. Dr. Caroline did not initially pursue veterinary medicine, rather she got her bachelor’s degree in International Politics. Following undergrad Dr. Caroline spent a year traveling India and Southeast Asia. During her travels, she took care of street dogs in India, taught English to Tibetan refugees, and volunteered with elephants in Thailand. Dr. Caroline’s time abroad inspired her to pursue veterinary medicine. While preparing for veterinary school Dr. Caroline worked as a technician in both a small animal practice and an equine practice. She attended veterinary school at Colorado State University. Dr. Caroline was first introduced to Caring Pathways during veterinary school when she received her CAETA training and certification. As a member of the Caring Pathways team Dr. Caroline is so honored to help families give their beloved pets peaceful end of life care. She loves hearing stories about how pets have brought joy to people’s lives and all their adventures together.

Dr. Caroline lives in Indian Hills with her partner and fur family (Moose and Cow the cats and Bear the dog). She also loves spending time with her horse Wyatt and exploring the trails with him. Dr. Caroline also loves gardening, hiking, baking, and doing anything outdoors!
