We are going out of town for 4 days. Although Mabel is doing well, it is always a bit unnerving to leave her for that long. Kidney issues can come on so quickly and I worry that she will become ill and I will not be able to get to her quickly. I also know that she will go without her supplements for a few days as I do not want to put that stress on someone else to deal with. This makes me feel like a bad kitty mom and I feel a twinge of guilt that we are leaving her.

I am thankful to have a good friend that will come and spend time with Mabel. It is comforting to have someone you can count on to call and let you know how your pet is doing while you are away. I have left her extra water and a few treats and hope that she will be okay until we get back.
