Our 8.5 yr. old girl, Allie, was diagnosed about 10 months ago with an aggressive form of melanoma. In December, we found out it had metastasized to her lungs and she had a large tumor that was obstructing her throat. It was only going to get worse. As the reality set in, I knew we were going to have to make a decision about her before it became an emergency. A friend of mine had done an at-home euthanasia and told me to consider it. We have another dog, 13 years old, and it just felt like the right thing to do for all of us – to be here at home, where she would be comfortable and not stressed.
Dr. Suzie came to our home and immediately we knew we had made the right decision. Her demeanor, soft, caring, warm, and loving – gave us the comfort we needed to let Allie go, all here in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her family. I could not have asked for a more compassionate doctor to work with for this most difficult decision. Thank you so much to the team at Caring Pathways for helping us through this very sad time.
