After more than a decade of compassionate service, one of Caring Pathways’ earliest veterinarians is retiring and becoming the inaugural recipient of our Veterinarian Emeritus designation.
For more than ten years, Dr. Kelly Knoll has brought comfort, dignity, and calm to families facing one of the hardest moments in the life they share with a beloved pet. As she retires from Caring Pathways, we are honored to celebrate the extraordinary legacy she leaves behind.
A Foundational Member of the Caring Pathways Team
Dr. Knoll joined Caring Pathways in 2014, becoming one of the first associate veterinarians hired after the practice was founded. Since then, she has guided countless Colorado families through end-of-life decisions with skill, steadiness, and profound empathy.
Through compassionate in-home Comfort Care (hospice) and Euthanasia services, Dr. Knoll helped families create peaceful, meaningful goodbyes in the comfort of home. Her work also helped shape what exceptional veterinary end-of-life care looks like: care grounded in clinical excellence and deep respect for the bond between people and their pets.
A Mentor Whose Influence Will Continue
Dr. Knoll’s impact reaches well beyond the families she personally served. She played an instrumental role in mentoring and training many Caring Pathways veterinarians, sharing not only her clinical knowledge but also the calm presence and compassionate approach that defined her care.
Her professionalism, generosity, and commitment helped establish the standards and culture that continue to guide our team today. The veterinarians she mentored will carry those lessons forward to the pets and families they serve for years to come.
Our First Veterinarian Emeritus
In recognition of her exceptional service and lasting influence, Dr. Knoll is the first recipient of Caring Pathways’ newly established Veterinarian Emeritus designation.

As one of Caring Pathways’ earliest veterinarians, Dr. Knoll helped shape both our approach to medicine and the compassionate way we support families during some of the most profound moments they share with their beloved pets. Her lasting influence makes her a fitting first recipient of the Veterinarian Emeritus designation.
