Zeke—the lover, the licker, the friendly social guy, he of the loudest purrs and the sweetest temperament; our presh boy—joined my life in 2008 through a chance adoption from a Lakewood home. His mama, Sabrina, and I began dating in 2013, and within months, she was giving me a run for Zeke Daniel’s favorite human.
Zeke left this Earth on April 7th, his loving family by his side (including sister Dali), at the house he helped us make into a home.
Zeke was a special dude who brought happiness to everyone he met—especially to his parents. His routines of affection were legion. Never needy or pushy, always at the right time, always in tune with what we were going through and how he could help. These routines changed over the years, and he showered us with them until the day he simply ran out. In their variety and consistency, Zeke gave us a few lifetimes’ worth of memories—of being loved, and of loving.
Thank you to the Caring Pathways team, and especially Dr. Jill Hickey, for helping us send Zeke Daniel to the Rainbow Bridge, and for honoring his lifetime of love.
