Nicole Masterson, DVM

Dr. Nicole was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She completed her undergraduate work at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1989. Concurrently, she pursued extensive studies in Classical Music Performance. Upon finishing her work at DePauw, Dr. Nicole spent several years in Manhattan where she worked at the Cornell Medical Center’s Payne Whitney Psychiatric Clinic while simultaneously working at a small animal veterinary hospital on the Upper East Side, which is when she discovered her passion for veterinary medicine.

Dr. Nicole earned her DVM from Michigan State University in 1998, and has enjoyed her work in small animal private practice since then. She is a member of the IAAHPC, AVMA, and AAFP. Six years ago, she and her family relocated to Colorado. Dr. Nicole has always found that her most meaningful and rewarding work in private practice has been that involving helping her patients with end-of-life care. Therefore, she is so very grateful for the opportunity to join us at Caring Pathways where she can realize her true calling.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Nicole reads, plays the flute, and hikes with her daughter. They share their home with three cats— Buddy, Wilson, and Spanx, and their corgi puppy- Piper.
