Ebony’s unconditional love for us and her sister, Ginger, was the greatest gift we could have ever asked for when adopting her 8 years ago. She was the sweetest “nana” dog; always looking after us all. A cherished friend, loyal companion, and a true belly rub lover. We will always miss her “tippy taps” when she got excited and barreling through the snow on a cold winter’s day. She helped us move to Colorado and call it home, exploring the state’s beauty with us on many walks and hikes over the years. Ebony’s ability to comfort us in times of need was unparalleled – the truest of friend no matter the circumstances. Her fight against Inflammatory Bowel Disease caught up with her eventually at age 13, and it was so hard to say goodbye – she wanted to be with us to the very end. Surrounded by us and her bonded sister, she passed pain free at home. We will forever be grateful of the years of cuddles and happiness, and of the lessons learned going forward. Ebony’s legacy lives on in us, her impact will persist forever. While she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will linger over us all as a watchful angel, our sweet Ebbie, who only wanted the very best for us.
