Caring Pathways could not have been more compassionate or professional when we had to say a tearful goodbye to our senior dog. Her failing health became a crisis over a holiday, and not only did the staff field my call and help me think through our options, but they also quickly scheduled someone to come out to our home the next morning to help us say goodbye. I hadn’t intended to have my children (who were six and three) home when we said goodbye, but my feelings changed in the moment, and the vet let me really lean on her to help me make that difficult decision. She walked our kids through the experience with utter gentleness, grace, and compassion and she gave our sweet Callie the most gentle goodbye I could imagine. She gave our home a sense of peace, helped end our dog’s suffering gently, and held space for all of us with compassion, patience, and love when we were deeply grief-stricken. I can’t recommend this organization and its staff highly enough; our veterinarian transformed our experience into a chaotic crisis into a sacred and protected place to say goodbye.
