Dr. Angel Han was such an amazing support and calming presence during one of the most difficult times of my life. On December 28th, 2023, it was time to say a final goodbye to my dog and my very best friend of 15 years, Maxine. Dr. Han assured me that Maxine was in the “window” of time when euthanasia was an appropriate decision. Maxine had not eaten for days and recently began refusing to drink water. Her arthritis was severely compromising her quality of life. I knew Maxine’s time on earth was drawing to an end and I did not want her to suffer. Dr. Han was so loving and gentle with Maxine. She explained every step of the process from beginning to end and explained it all as it was happening. I am absolutely certain that Maxine felt nothing but pure love and peace from the moment Dr. Han entered my home until the very end. I am absolutely certain that Maxine did not suffer at all during the process and in fact, she peacefully went to sleep. Three weeks later, as I was walking to the mailbox crying because I still miss Maxine so very much, there was a hand-written sympathy card from Dr. Han and the staff at Caring Pathways. It felt like Maxine was licking away my tears and telling me that she was still with me and that she loves me as much as I love her. Thank you so much Dr. Han, for your help and for truly being an Angel in our time of need.
