My big, sweet Bentley—sometimes called Bubu—you left a huge emptiness in my life. I can’t tell you how much I miss you. You were the bright spot in my life, and most days revolved around you. You went everywhere with me. You were my hiking buddy for 11 years—and my camping buddy too. Your empty bowl, bed, and all your treats are still here, waiting for me to donate them. I loved watching you roll in the snow and look up at me before saying, ‘Go swimming,’ right before plunging into a lake or stream.
Your memories are everywhere, Ben, every day. We had a good run, Bubu. Now you’re off to the Rainbow Bridge without me.
Run free, Sir Bentley of the Rockies. I will always love and miss you.
