On December 27, 2025, we said goodbye to our sweet Ruby after her brave battle with kidney disease. Nearly two and a half years ago, we took a leap of faith and adopted a timid, terrified hound mix who was too scared to even sniff us. What we didn’t know then was that she would become one of the greatest joys of our lives.
Ruby blossomed into the most giddy, goofy, and loving dog. She taught us what patience truly means and showed us the beauty of trust built slowly, gently, and with unwavering love. Watching her open up was a gift we will always treasure.
She loved long hikes—she could go for hours—anything chicken, and playing with her beloved bunny toys. She sprinted to the kitchen the second she heard a drawer open and stood faithfully nearby while we cooked, always hoping something might fall her way. Every morning, when we shouted, “Who wants to eat?!,” she and our other dog, Sky, would race down the stairs together. And as much as Ruby loved adventure, she was just as happy curled up in bed, content to sleep the day away.
Ruby’s life was far too short, but the impact she made on our hearts will last forever. She filled our home with joy, laughter, and unconditional love, and we will truly never forget her. Keep heaven warm for us, please.
Missing her deeply, but we will remember her joy forever.
