In Loving Memory of Freyja
August 4, 2011 – September 27, 2025
Our beloved greyhound Freyja passed peacefully on a beautiful September morning, surrounded by love and the quiet presence of her family. Her passing was gentle — held on our back deck in the soft sunlight, with the sounds and scents of a world she knew well.
Freyja was grace in motion and stillness. A calm, steady soul with a quiet dignity that touched everyone who met her. She came into our lives in 2015 as a retired racer — Get Real Christa from Florida — shortly before we moved to Colorado and had been part of every chapter since. Always present, always near. She wasn’t the kind to demand attention, but her presence filled a room. Her watchful eyes, gentle spirit, and silent companionship were the quiet heart of our home.
In her final year, Freyja faced cognitive and physical decline with resilience and strength. With the incredible support of her hospice team and our regular vet, we were able to honor her needs and comfort every step of the way. The time we were given with her in those months was a gift we will never forget.
We’re grateful for every walk, every moment of stillness, every breath shared. We miss her terribly — but we also carry her with us. Always.
