Our gorgeous little Evans (or Evster) was our first tortoiseshell kitty, and though we didn’t understand it at first, we came to experience her “tortitude” in full measure. Sassy, sweet, cuddly, playful, and the tiniest bit annoying (mostly when it was time for her wet food lunch)—Evans held our hearts in her adorable little caramel patties (paws). We only had the luck of her presence and being for about 7 years. She was diagnosed with mammary cancer last month, and it turned out to be quite aggressive.
We knew it was getting close to her time when she wouldn’t leave either of our laps whenever we sat on the couch and when she struggled to climb her kitty stairs even once a day. We’re so grateful for Dr. Jenny and Caring Pathways for making in-home euthanasia an option, and such a peaceful, kind way for us to say goodbye to our sweet girl.
Hope you’re out there somewhere, balling to your heart’s content, Evans.
