We first met Joey in January 2013 at the Humane Society in Evans, CO. His given name was Jerry. Once we were able to sit with him, we realized that, based on his knack for jumping on everything and everyone, his name would be Joey, as in a baby kangaroo.
He was a delightful pup and was with us through many hardships, always by our side. He was playful and sweet. He always wanted to go for rides in the car, just to be with us. He helped to raise and train our other 2 dogs, since he already knew the rules.
In December of 2023, he was diagnosed with a mass in his spleen, but he didn’t give up.
The last two years have been lagniappe, we didn’t think we would have.
He will always have a special place in our hearts. We’ll see you again, our beautiful boy!
