Abby lived to be 15 years old and had such a beautiful, healthy, long life. She is and was my soul dog. She was the best birthday present ever. My parents got her for me when I was 12. Saying goodbye to her at 27 was such a blessing, but it was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Abby was such a light in our lives. We miss her so very dearly. We are forever grateful to have watched her grow old, but as her major decline began in November 2024, we knew the end was nearing.
Caring Pathways was the most amazing company to work with and truly a saving grace. Abby passed peacefully in my arms in her favorite spot in our home. The two veterinarians we worked with were so knowledgeable, compassionate, kind, and caring, and they made our minds feel more at peace with the entire process.
As difficult as this was for my family and me, we were able to give Abby one more peaceful day at home, with her little brother, Dallas, and the people who love her the most surrounding her. The ability to let her brother say goodbye was very important to us. We truly appreciated being able to have time with her after she passed so we could cherish her and say goodbye to her one last time.
I will always remember the puppy blanket we brought her home in. We were able to wrap her in it, and a part of it was cremated with her. My sweet Abby girl, you are loved beyond words, and we cannot wait for the day we see you again. We know you are around us always, and your spirit lives on forever. Soak up all the sunshine, eat all the yummy treats, and fetch all the balls! Your mama, brother, and family love you so, sugar bear!
