A tribute to Mama Kitty..

One look at Phantom’s face makes obvious the inspiration for her name. She was a dainty little cat with a prim mannerism of crossing her paws and resting her head on them, in the cutest darn way. Known to us more so as “Mama Kitty,” this gentle, soft spoken lil lady spent 11 happy years with us. She chose our family when she followed our older brother home from his friend’s house. The only attention she got while living in the other home was when our brother went to visit. Even after he took her back to them, she trekked four blocks to follow him again to our home, and that was it, our home was hers. We kept her. Come to find out, she was pregnant, and had 5 little kittens in the summer of 2000 (one of whom was a mirror image of her mama.) And a good mama she was. She got a stripe of grey hair down her back after all those mothering years. When “Baby David,” my little nephew was born, she became his mama kitty. She took good care of the baby, watched over him, and put up with all of his kitty-loving torment. She was a favorite in our home, and she will be greatly missed. Thank you to Caring Pathways for helping her pass so peacefully, cozy in her bed, surrounded by her loved ones. In Memory of Mama Kitty…you will be missed. With Lots of Love, Your Family.
